Privacy, Terms & California Repair Service Notice
This page describes how the Motivo platform handles user information, explains the intended use of the prototype, and provides general notices for users interacting with the demo system.
1. Senior Project / Prototype Status
Motivo is a platform that connects customers with their repair shops. It is intended for demonstration, coursework, testing, and educational use. It is not presented as a production-ready legal, regulatory, accounting, payment-processing, or compliance system.
Any real repair business deploying software based on this project should independently review its legal, privacy, security, recordkeeping, authorization, tax, licensing, and industry obligations before using it in production.
2. Privacy Notice
The prototype may collect information entered by users, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, account credentials, vehicle information, VINs, service requests, appointment details, and repair-related records.
Information entered into the prototype is used to demonstrate account creation, authentication, customer management, repair-shop workflows, estimates, invoices, and other project features.
Users should avoid entering sensitive or real-world information that is not necessary for demonstration or testing.
3. Terms of Use
By using this prototype, users understand that features may be incomplete, changed, unavailable, or inaccurate. The system is provided for academic and demonstration purposes without a guarantee that it is suitable for commercial deployment.
Users are responsible for the information they submit and should not use the prototype for unlawful activity, unauthorized access, or processing information they do not have permission to use.
4. California Repair Service Notice
The repair-management features in this project are designed to model common automotive-service workflows. The project does not claim that its current database, estimate, authorization, invoice, or record-retention implementation satisfies every requirement that may apply to a real California automotive repair business.
A production deployment should be reviewed and configured by the operating repair business and appropriate professional advisers before being relied upon for customer estimates, repair authorizations, additional-work approvals, invoices, disclosures, or record retention.
5. Electronic Communications & Acknowledgment
The prototype may display notices, estimates, repair information, invoices, and other records electronically. By creating an account, users acknowledge that they may receive or review project information through the web interface.
This general acknowledgment does not by itself authorize a particular repair, price, estimate, or additional service. Any production system should handle transaction-specific approvals separately where required.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Because this is a prototype, test data may be retained, reset, modified, or deleted as part of development, demonstrations, database maintenance, or coursework.
A production version would require a formal data-retention and deletion policy appropriate to the business and the laws and regulations that apply to it.
7. Contact
